William H. Wittmer
Obituary
William H. Wittmer, age 75, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday January 23, 2023. He was born on March 27, 1947 in Canton to the late Willis and Mattie (Yoder) Wittmer. A life time career in construction and concrete, in more recent years he worked for the Village of Hartville at Memorial Park. He was a member of Evermore Community Church and could be found evangelizing the good word to everyone everywhere. With church he loved greeting people and served in mission work in Haiti. He enjoyed his “guy time” at McDonald’s and “home time” on his porch and in his garden. He loved his family and family reunions, fishing and hunting and sports.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Marilyn (McCort); children Tracy (Derek) Barringer, Lucinda Wittmer, Stephen (Michelle) Wittmer; grandchildren Jonathan, William and Ann, Ace, and Marka and Nathan; siblings Lawrence (Nioma) Wittmer, Elizabeth (Loren) Lapp, Neoma (Marvin) Troyer, Louise (James) Miller, Willis Wittmer Jr., and Kenneth (Julie) Wittmer; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
To celebrate William’s life, calling hours are Thursday 4-7 PM at Evermore Community Church. Burial will take place in the church cemetery Friday 10:15 AM prior to the 11 AM service. Funeral services are Friday 11 AM in the church with Pastor Ross Miller and Pastor Butch Nisly officiating.
