Wanda Kaye Koon

Wanda Kaye Koon, age 72, of North Canton, passed away on Saturday May 21, 2022 in the comfort of her home. She was born in Lebanon, Tennessee on December 25, 1949 to the late Vernon and Tryphenia Bean.  

Wanda loved her husband, children, and grandsons compassionately and unconditionally. They returned that love to their wife, mother and grandmother in the same way. The family was by her side daily to support and love her in the transition from this earthly life to her home in Heaven. 

She was a servant to many.  

Wanda put up a valiant fight with Stage IV breast cancer for 14 years. She was never filled with self pity. She accepted her fate and always lived her life faithful to God. 

Wanda loved to garden. Her flowers and plants would grow as beautifully as her life. She also loved to read and travel. She especially loved to travel to the South Carolina low country and to Scotland to connect with her ancestry. Wanda was focused on seeing good in everyone. She was a caregiver to her parents and the special love and bond with her daughters was exemplary. 

She passed peacefully listening to the birds and smiling. 

She will be forever missed by family and friends. 

Survivors include husband of 52 years, Howard; daughters Danette (Ed) Lantzer, Sarah Maloney; grandsons Drew Lantzer, Ryan and Nathan Maloney; brothers Huey (Darlene) Bean, Russell (Sandy) Bean; and other relatives and friends. 

Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 PM at Arnold Funeral Home 1517 Market Ave, N in Canton and one hour prior to services Thursday (10-11 AM). Funeral services are Thursday 11 AM in the funeral home with Dean Miller and John Wright officiating. Final resting place is Mount Peace Cemetery in Hartville. Memorial contributions may be made to Summa Hospice.
