Ruth Partridge Obituary

Ruth W. Partridge went home to be with her Lord on Aug 7, 2023

Born on Nov 11, 1928, the only child to Max and Lina (Lewender) Roos, Ruth grew up with other German families on “the Hill” in East McKeesport, PA and didn’t learn English until she went to first grade. She graduated from Nyack College (New York), where she met her beloved Stanley, and they worked side by side in ministry for 42 years in seven parishes throughout Oho. During her time serving in the church, she was particularly passionate about working with teenagers in youth ministry. She was also involved in the community and served on the Board of the East Ohio Credit Union for 25 years, and for many years was Board Chairperson.

Ruth and Stan loved to travel, taking several camping trips across the United States as a family when the boys were young. Later they enjoyed exciting adventures to Germany to visit relatives, explored Israel, decorated a float for the Rose Bowl Parade, and went on a number of cruises including travels to Alaska and the Panama Canal.

Ruth was an avid Steelers fan, proudly wearing all the gear and displaying a Steelers flag at her back door. She loved to garden and decorate the outside of her home with flowers and Christmas decorations 'for the neighbors'. The mail carrier would frequently find candy bars or homemade Amish sweet bread left for them in the mailbox when she had a letter that need to be picked up. Ruth was known for these random acts of kindness throughout her life, giving generously to all. Everyone she came in contact with has a story of a time she made an impact on their life. Her kitchen table was command central where she would daily prepare cards, letters, and packages or make phone calls just to make someone's day. Her happiest times were when her family gathered together, as they were the loves of her life.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Dr Reverend Stanley Partridge; a son, Dean Partridge; two great-grandsons, Jonathan and Micah Blair; and her foster brother, Charles Hoerner.

She is survived by three sons: Stephen (Susan) Partridge, Mark (Donna) Partridge and Pastor John (Patti) Partridge. Ten grandchildren; Matthew Partridge, TJ Partridge, Nicholas (Brie) Partridge, Courtney Partridge, Nathan Partridge, Sarah (Bradley) Olivo, Hannah Partridge, Jonah (Kiley) Partridge, Noah Partridge, Lina (Daniel) Blair. Four great grandchildren; Harper and Hailey Partridge, Callaway and Cohen Olivo.
