Renee Miracle Obituary

Renee D. (Kumbera) Miracle passed away October 4, 2020, at the age of 80.

She was born April 7, 1940, to Chester and Mary (Badis) Kumbera in Dennison, Ohio.  She is predeceased by her parents, former husband, The Rev. Dr. Larry L. Miracle, and great granddaughter, Amelia Rose Lukens.

She is survived by; sister, Betty L. Devaul, son George Alan Miracle, daughter, Maureen Renee Crabtree (James); granddaughters Amanda Jean Baker and Emily Grace Baker, niece Mary K Ziccardi and nephews Matthew Ziccardi (Jennifer), and Andrew Ziccardi (Debbie).

Renee graduated from Dennison High School in 1958 where she participated in many activities including National Honor Society, band, Head Majorette, high school plays, and she was the Homecoming Queen.  She later went to business school.

Renee was an active member of the Disciples of Christ Churches, including the Park Christian Church in Dennison, First Christian Church of Barnesville, The Clyde Christian Church, and Central Christian Church in Marion, Ohio.  Her church life was active. In addition to being a minister’s wife, she was part of Sunday school classes and CWF. She loved providing the most fabulous dishes to any pot-luck!

She worked primarily in banking. Her last position was with Diebold where she retired at the age of 70.

Renee enjoyed international and domestic travel, and particularly liked her trips to Michigan and Kentucky in the autumn.  One of her favorite places was Lakeside, Ohio, where the family spent time at the “Gathering Place” with our Lakeside friends.

She enjoyed creating art in various forms, but particularly painting with water colors.

Her most endearing quality was that of a caring mother and grandmother.  She was kind, supportive, nurturing, and frequently singing! Renee loved children and all were welcome.

Renee was proud of her Hungarian roots, as all four of her grandparents immigrated from Hungary to the United States.

A time for gathering, sharing, and celebrating her life will be held at The Trailhead, 21 W. North Street, Akron, Ohio, on Saturday, October 17th, at 2:00 PM. Social Distancing and Masks required please.
