Mr. Philip L. Sonner, Sr. of Massillon, Ohio passed away on June 23, 2021, at the young age of 72, with his family by his side.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 15, 1948, Phil graduated from Eastlake North High School in 1966 and later attended Cleveland State University. Phil proudly served his country 1967-1970 in the United States Marine Corps with two tours in Vietnam. He worked for IBM, Coopers & Lybrand, and in later years founded his own computer consulting company, Agility, Inc.
Phil was an avid traveler and he enjoyed collecting cars and motorcycles. He loved music, wine and good cigars. He made friends wherever he went and had never met a stranger.
Phil was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Beverly Sonner. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy Morse Sonner and his three children, Philip Jr. (Jaime Novinec), Stacey (Mike “Sully” Sullivan), and Meagan (Nick Martino); sister, Martha (Denny Parrott); eight grandchildren, Philip, Michael, Garrett, Emilee, Marie, Cassidy, Izabel and Kingsley.
