Mildred Niklas, age 86 of Hartville, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Greenfield Estates in Akron. She was born June 8, 1934 in Uniontown, PA, one of 10 children to Joseph and Anna Bednaza. Following graduation from high school she moved to Cleveland where she met and married her husband, Richard. She helped her husband run their family grocery store, Greensburg IGA for many years. Millie loved to bake, and her nut rolls were loved by her family and friends. She was the head cashier at Donzell’s in Akron for over a decade and she cherished her time there before her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard and son Richard Jr, and all her siblings. She is survived by her children Hope (Michael) Paladines of Illinois, Holly (Scott) Michel of Canal Fulton, and daughter-in-law JoAda Niklas of Georgia; grandchildren Michael, Cameron, and Hayley Paladines, Adam and Lauren Michel, and Variek and Ella Niklas.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 2 from 10-11 AM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville. Funeral services will begin at 11AM in the funeral home. Final resting place is Mt. Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. A celebration of life mass will be held at a later date.
