Michael E. Haws

Michael E. Haws, age 72, passed away in the comfort of his home on August 11, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born February 9, 1950, in Marietta and graduated from Revere High School. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served in Vietnam. Michael was a proud father to his 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Michael would have celebrated 27 years of marriage to his wife, Barbara, on August 12. She had been his “everything” throughout their time together and offered unwavering support through the past several years. He had a knack for using his unique sense of humor in everyday situations and making others comfortable in otherwise tense conversations. Michael was ornery and sarcastic, its no secret he was a handful, but he would do anything to make you smile even if he was having a bad day.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children Scott Haws, Laila Hummel, and Jason (Erin) Haws; grandchildren Adrian and Brenden Hummel and Ian, Ellie, and Emma Haws; sisters Diana Haws and Faye Haws.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and staff that helped with Michael, especially Crystal and Jenny with Aultman Hospice.

Per Michael’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no public services. To honor Michael, please do your best to make someone laugh today or unexpectedly pay for someone’s restaurant tab.
