Mary Ellen Miller, age 92, passed away September 7, 2023, at Bethany Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was born January 8, 1931, in Warren, Ohio to Ralph and Estella (Lechleitner) Hoffhines and graduated from Warren G. Harding High School, class of 1949. Mary Ellen attended Ohio Wesleyan University where she was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She was employed by First National Bank in North Canton and served as the Office Manager at Sun State Plastics until her retirement.
She was an active and devoted member of Faith United Methodist Church in North Canton since 1960. She was active in the Member Chapter BB of the PEO Sisterhood, spent time serving as a board member for Community Harvest and was involved with the Canton Symphony League.
Mary Ellen loved traveling with her family and friends, especially her husband Paul H. Miller, whom she married in 2005. Family togetherness was the great joy of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Ralph Lamont and William Barton.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughter Laurel Anne (Brad) Hoover of Cleveland, Ohio; son Richard R. (Carmen) Riehm of Gold Canyon, Arizona; grandchildren Kristen Tsangeos, Ryan Riehm, Richard Corey Riehm, and Mitchell Riehm; great grandson Oslo Wise; step grandchildren Elizabeth Wall, Christin Fasuga, Derek Stanley, and Jenah Stanley; step great grandchildren Jack Wall and Audrey Wall.
She is also survived by Paul’s loving family, her stepsons Mark Miller of Woodville, Ohio, David (Kathleen) Miller of Delaware, Ohio and Jeff (Donna) Miller of Springhill, Tennessee; seven step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 23 at Faith United Methodist Church in North Canton from 10:00-11:30 AM. Private family services will be held in the church following calling hours.
