Obituary

Jean Homer, age 99, of Canton, passed away on Sunday March 12, 2023 where she recently resided at Brookwood Place in Ashland.  She was born October 22, 1923 in Canton to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Ault) Lando and graduated from McKinley High School. While attending Miami (of Ohio) University, she met and married Harry Homer on October 1, 1943. They farmed in Louisville for many years and retired in Canton. Her legacy is in the art she created in hooked rugs, quilts, and decorating her home with antiques.  Her passions were gardening and cooking.

Preceded in death by husband Harry in 2013; brother Charles Lando and sister Joan Mackin; she is survived by her daughters Cynthia Purnell, Jill (Kennard) Meng; grandchildren Tracy Meng, Drew (Tami) Meng; great-grandchildren Harrison, Luke and Phoebe Meng. 

A private service will be held Friday March 17th from 11 AM-12 noon at Arnold Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave, Canton with interment to follow at North Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Jim Scott officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jean Homer can be sent to Brookwood Place, 1998 Center St., Ashland, OH 44805.
