Linda S Slack

Linda Slack departed her loving family going to the arms of the Lord on April 8th, 2024. Linda was born in Cuyahoga Falls on March 11, 1950, to Janet (Kepler) Heimbuch and Henry Heimbuch. 

Linda attended Kent State University for her Bachelor's in Biology and Minor in Allied Health Science and Master's in Special Education that she used to substitute teach in the local area and later becoming a Special Education teacher for the Green School District. Her positive attitude encouraged many of her students to continue striving for graduation. 

As an avid volunteer, she participated in many ministries to include: Sunday School team teaching with her husband at First Congregational of Talmadge under Rev. Carter and organizing vacation bible school while participating in the Ladies Guild at St Peter's United Church of Christ. Her volunteerism continued, with her husband, Norman, at Hartville Thrift Store, where she volunteered for six years and the Bread and Egg Ministry support to First Federated Church of North Jackson, OH. 

Linda's hobbies included anything related to biology: trees, flowers, animals, bird identification, and playing in her garden as much as possible. 

She is pre-deceased by her father Henry Heimbuch and survived by her husband Norman Slack, mother Janet Heimbuch, son Aaron Westover and grandsons Brandon Stewart, Mateo Suazo-Calix, and Wyatt Westover, daughter Wendy Westover, step-son Steven Slack, and Sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pamela and Bryson Miles.

No services will be held as immediate friends and family were invited to bedside attendance on 8 April 2024.
