Laura Mae (Doebbeling) Tabacchi

Laura Mae (Doebbeling) Tabacchi, born November 3, 1923 passed away peacefully on April 30, 2021, at the age of 97 after a wonderfully full and blessed life. 

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Frederich and Orpha Doebbeling; siblings, Kenneth, Opal (Irene), Freida, Margurite, Harry and Robert; her husband, Fred Tabacchi; daughter, Terri Tabacchi-Legg; son, Larry Tabacchi; grandchildren, Larry Johndrow and Janet Coley; and great-grandchildren, Nick Fowler and BJ Leitch.    

She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Johndrow; daughter-in-law, Dottie Tabacchi; nephew, Harry Hewitt; grandchildren, Tina, Gina (Chuck), Antonio (Jill) and Giovanni (Christine) Tabacchi, Shawna (Frank) Fowler, Shari (Bill) Leitch, Stanley (Wendy) Johndrow, Matthew (Ann) Gardner, and David (Dani) Legg and her many great-grandchildren.  We are grateful for the loving care provided by Dr. Shruiti Trehan and her long-time care giver, Lorie Millsap.

Laura did not want a long obituary, which is fitting because she was as efficient as she was modest.  Her request will be respected, in celebration of the fact that Laura always knew exactly how she wanted something to be done, and that those who knew and loved her do not need to be reminded why.

In many ways, Laura was a renaissance woman.  She was as at home in hip-waders as she was a ball gown, and the perfect cocktail of beauty, strength, intelligence, fortitude, empathy, and generosity.  May God bless and keep our Laura, Nana, Grammy, GG.
