Larry Miller Obituary

Larry Miller, age 88, of Canton, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2021.  He was born in Canton on October 30, 1932, to Max and Rae (Dreyer) Miller. He graduated from Lehman High School in 1950 and Kent State University in 1954 with a degree in accounting.

He met his future wife Rita Lichtblau in high school whom he married on June 15, 1958. He worked in the same public accounting firm from 1954 until his retirement at the end of 2014.  Even though he worked long hours, he always came home at dinnertime during the week to spend a few hours with his wife and children before going back to the office.  He enjoyed this special time with his family.

He had a passion for sports. He enjoyed listening to high school football and basketball on the radio.  He loved watching his beloved Cleveland teams play football, basketball, and baseball.  Since all his children attended The Ohio State University, he tried to catch the Buckeye football and basketball teams on television.

He is survived by his children Dr. Martin (Dr. Bonnie) Miller of Hilton Head, SC, Elisabeth (Spencer) Lynch of Charleston, SC, Mindy (James) Weinberg of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Allison (Vikram) Bhatia, Elliott (Alexandria) Miller, Gabrielle Lynch, Sean (Marina Rostein) Lynch, Jake Weinberg and Reese Weinberg; great-grandchildren Lucy Bhatia and Julián Lynch. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Rita Miller, and brother Chester Miller.

A private funeral service for family will be held Wednesday, July 21, 11:00 AM at the Canton Hebrew Cemetery and will be available online by visiting the Arnold Funeral Home Facebook page.  Donations may be made in Larry’s memory to Shaaray Torah Synagogue, 432-30th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Windsor Medical Center for their compassion and support where he lived the past 5 years.
