Sadly, on January 24, 2021 we lost our best friend, our buddy, a husband, father, brother, Grampy, and uncle, John William Zindle to the unforgiving virus of Covid-19.
To some he was known as John, to some known as Bill, and if you met him for the first time, he’d firmly shake your hand and say, “Hi, I’m Ed Siblock,” a life-long, running joke. He was happiest in activities that centered around family and friends: playing cards, hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, and “mystery dinners.” Although he was the life of the party, any party, every one of us knows that his private conversations with us truly reflected his depth, his curiosity, his kindness, and his loyalty. He was proud, self-made, funny, stubborn, gruff but kind, tough but fair, generous, honest, supportive, wise and loving. His powerful personality was lovingly nurtured by his dearest Pat. He never forgot his good fortune in her love and devotion and was deeply grateful to the end.
He was often teased because of his size, but for us he is a giant among men, and always will be.
Born March 28, 1943 in Akron Ohio but he lived the bulk of his 77 years in the Canton Ohio area.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Patricia (McDonald) Zindle, sons: William (Sarah) Zindle of British Columbia Canada and John (Deanna) Zindle of Gloucester MA, and daughter Julie (Heather) Zindle of Seattle WA. He will be missed by his grandchildren: Morgan, Chloe, Ella, Zachary, Christopher, Kevin, and Lucia. He is also survived by his “older” (whom he always loved to remind) sister Patricia Moeglin-Burwell (Cliff) and his beloved nieces and nephews.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic limitations, we will invite family and friends to celebrate his life and our memories at a later date when it is safe to do so. According to Bill’s wishes, Arnold Funeral Home of Canton will be handling his cremation.
