Iva E. Lind, age 101, of Canton, passed away at the Canton Christian Home on August 6, 2021. She was born in Canton, Ohio on September 24, 1919 (ten minutes after her twin brother, Ivor) to the late William and Carrie (Deierling) Hopkins. Iva was in the McKinley Class of 1937. She married Karl Lind on August 3, 1940, who passed away in 2000 after 60 years of marriage. Iva worked at Harter Bank (Key Bank) for 23 years. She was a Red Cross volunteer for 31 years mainly at Aultman Hospital where she was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2000. Iva was a long-time member of The First Church of the Resurrection. She loved being with friends and family and loved crocheting. She was known for crocheting her towels and sold many, many to the folks at FirstMerit Mortgage Corp.
In addition to her parents and Karl, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Iva is survived by four children, Lee (Angie) Hill of Charleston, WV, Karl (Judy) Lind of New Orleans, LA, Terry (Josie) Lind of Massillon, and Lois (Phil) Vitale of Canton; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; her lone Sibling, Virgine (John) Busto of Nevada and many nieces and nephews.
