Obituary

Rev. Harry E. Wright, age 77, of Louisville, was welcomed into his Savior's arms Monday August 29, 2016 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bandy, VA on June 30, 1939 to the late Clifford and Maudie (Clark) Wright. At age 18 he married his childhood sweetheart Katherine Stephenson of Bishop, VA. God blessed their union with 2 daughters. In his 30's he came to know the Lord and felt a call to the ministry. He was ordained by the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Connection and faithfully served over 30 years in various churches. Harry will be long remembered for his servant's heart, wonderful humor and his untiring energy. He served faithfully on numerous boards for his church connection and one of his favorite outreaches was the opportunity to evangelize on the island of Haiti.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Katherine; daughters and sons-in-law Tammy and Dan Fair of Alliance, Janie and John Sanford of Richmond, VA; "adopted" daughter from Romania Otilia and Graham Sanders of Nantucket, MA; grandchildren Mark (Jordan), Kate, Stephen (Carrie) Fair, Paul (Tara) Cook, Emily (Cody) Amason, Harrison Sanders; great-grandchildren, Brianna Mong, Addie and Aidan Clevenger, Sarah, Stephen, Sean and Shane Fair, and one on the way Eliana Amason; sister Vera Omar; sisters-in-law Gladys and Kate Wright. He was preceded in death by brothers Darrel and Virgil.

Calling hours are Thursday 5-8 PM at Bethany Mennonite Church, 3497 Edison St., NE, Hartville. Funeral services are Friday 11:00 AM at Bethany Mennonite Church with Rev. Michael Marshall officiating. Final resting place is Mount Peace Cemetery.
