Harry John Kit (1937-2021) On February 11, 2021, Harry Kit, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 83 after struggling for several years with Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease.

Harry was born on June 22, 1937 in Manhattan, NY to Harry and Minnie Kit. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree with an (Aeronautical Option) from Syracuse University in 1959, and worked his entire 50 year career for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. On April 28, 1962, he married Maxine Joyce Brizes. Together, they raised daughter, Sharon, and son, Paul, while living in Wethersfield, CT, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Sanford, ME and Canton, OH.

Harry loved to spend time with his family and had a passion for the outdoors. He loved to hike, camp, canoe and travel. He was exceptionally handy at fixing things and doing household repairs.  He shared this gift with his churches, friends and family.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing pickle ball, and country music.  He and Maxine were especially fond of square dancing and were members of the Nubble Light House Keepers Square & Round Dance Club in Wells, Maine.  He was an avid Red Cross blood donor that gave over 120 pints (15 gallons) in his lifetime.  He was known for his honesty, devotion, generosity, compassion and adventurous spirit.

Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry, his mother, Minnie and sister, Patricia. He is survived by his wife, Maxine, his two children, Sharon Kit Ryan (husband Michael Ryan) and Paul Kit (wife Michele Manns Kit), and 5 grandchildren, Kelsey Ryan, Austin Ryan, Delaney Ryan, Jordan Kit and Cameron Kit. Special thanks to the staff at Sanctuary Grande and Absolute Hospice for their devoted care and comfort.  A brief memorial service will be held for the immediate family at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Canton, OH.
