Harold Benjamin Wenger, age 98, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday November 20, 2022. He was born on July 14, 1924 in East Canton, Ohio to the late Earl and Pearl (Culler) Wenger. Harold was a life long member of Werner United Methodist Church of Middlebranch, Ohio. He was an Army WW II Veteran, serving in the Pacific in the 25th Infantry Division, Tropic Lightning. He married Dorothy Immel on December 7, 1946. Harold and Dorothy bought a farm just south of Hartville in 1961. He was a dairy farmer and like his father raised Registered Belgian Draft Horses. Harold loved his horses. He enjoyed selling horses and ponies, judging at county fairs and showing his own livestock. He was a member of Farm Bureau, Stark County Fair Board, Belgian Horse Association and Stark County Soil Conservation.
Survived by wife of 75 years, Dorothy; children Alice Marie Snyder, James “Jim” (Connie) Wenger, Darrell (Madelyn) Wenger; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 Great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by granddaughter; brother Kenneth (Ruth) Wenger and infant sister Eunice.
Calling hours are Sunday 3-5 PM at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville and one hour prior to services Monday (10-11 AM). Funeral services are Monday 11 AM in the funeral home. Final resting place is St. Jacob’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Werner United Methodist Church.
