Glenn Morris Obituary

Glenn William Morris, It is with great sadness to announce that Glenn William Morris, aged 73 passed away suddenly on January 18th, 2021, in Canton, Ohio. He leaves behind his loving partner, Lisa Varavvas. One of Glenn’s biggest accomplishments in life was being a father and grandfather. He was a devoted father to his son, Jeff Morris and wife Jane of Stratford and his daughter Jody Horne and husband Murray of Sebringville. Proud Grandpa to Josh, Cameron, Emily, Alexa and Elllie. Special mentor to Lisa’s son, Anthony (A.J) Nicodemo. He will also be missed by his children’s mother, Sharon Morris of Stratford. He is also survived by brothers, Randy Morris and partner Nora Cartlidge, Dan and Kathy Morris, and Rob Morris, all of Stratford, along with sister-in-laws, Irene Morris of Woodstock and Heather Morris of Kitchener. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Glenn was predeceased by his parents Elwin and Isobel Morris and brothers Elwin Jr (Moe) and John Morris.

It is impossible to describe the impact that Glenn Morris has had on so many people’s lives. Various lives in Canada and The United States were subject to Glenn’s kindness, charm, empathy, work ethic and respect. He was the definition of a people person who thoroughly enjoyed any form of company. These traits eventually turned him into a world class host and entertainer and many of us are extremely grateful for that.

Over the years Glenn was an avid golfer and enjoyed hitting the links with his friends on a weekly basis and his grand-son Cameron, whenever he was able to visit. He was never afraid to speak his mind if someone else hit a bad shot and most of the time would explain how to fix it.

Glenn worked at Standard Products (Cooper Standard) for over 40 years both in Stratford and then moving to Michigan in 1992. He made an impact on everyone he met in his professional life. Even after retirement, Glenn continued to keep up with the business world on a regular basis and became a hobby for him.

In 2012 he moved to Canton, Ohio where he quickly became a beloved individual around his community. Almost instantly, he made a voluntary commitment to being a part of the Meyers Lake Condo Association board. He also was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church, in which he constantly would donate his time to help others in need around the church community. He also undertook great responsibility managing multiple properties around Canton, especially “John’s Center” and thrived in doing so. No job was too big for Glenn. In his spare time, he played in two different golf leagues throughout the week and always enjoyed being able to spend time with anyone who enjoyed swinging the golf clubs. Additionally, he became obsessed with being out on the lake on his pontoon boat, always taking pride in entertaining his family and friends on his boat.

Glenn was a staple in many people's lives, his clear and honest approach to life reflected on friendships, family and peers around him.  Being apart from his family in Stratford, he always ensured to keep in touch with his loved ones in Canada, whether it was sending hilarious photos, commenting on every social media post or just phone calling out of the blue. He will be missed dearly by so many people in his life.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in Canton, Ohio, along with Stratford, Ontario, when we are safely able to do so. Memorial donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Crossroads United Methodist Ministries or the Stratford Rotary Hospice through W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, Canada 519-271-7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com . Please sign the online guest book at arnoldfuneralhome.com.
