George “Butch” Nemet, age 74, of Randolph passed away April 22, 2021 in his home. He was born November 10, 1946 in Akron to George J. and Helen (Weaver) Nemet. He is a graduate of Green High School and was very proud to have received his college degree in Auto Mechanics. He was drafted into the Army and served as a 101st Airborne Ranger. He worked for General Tire for over 18 years, entered a career as a car salesman, then served as an Emergency Room Technician at Robinson Memorial Hospital where he retired after 20 years of service. He dedicated 18 years as a volunteer firefighter at Lakemore Volunteer Fire Department, and was nominated for the Portage County Hero Award. Butch has lots of things he was proud of, but his biggest accomplishment is the love he has for his family.
He is survived by the love of his life his wife of 48 years, Leila; children Teresa Sidoti-Nemet and Craig (Nicole) Nemet; grandchildren Alicia (Kyle) Setlock, Alexa (Stephen) Forrester, Allison Stover, Joshua Stover, Joey Sidoti, and Jordan Sidoti; great-grandchildren Jaiden, Elaina, and Kinsley, and many other friends and family.. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mary "Jeannie", Paul "Bud" Becky, Loren, Sandra.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 27 from 1-2 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville. At 2PM a formal procession will form leading to Hillside Cemetery in Randolph where a Graveside Service will begin approximately 2:30PM. The funeral will be streamed on the Arnold Funeral Home Facebook Page.
