Galen Stoll Obituary

Galen L. Stoll, beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away on May 2, 2023, after a hard-fought battle against cancer. Galen was born October 15, 1950, and was a lifelong resident of Hartville. He spent most of his career in concrete-masonry sales, where he developed friendships and earned respect from his colleagues and customers.
As a young father, Galen coached his sons’ Little League teams. As a Christian and member of The Chapel in Marlboro, he served several terms as a trustee and also chaired four building committees. Galen cared deeply about his community and was recognized in 2017 by Lake Township for his service and contributions during his twelve-year tenure as a Lake Township Trustee. He was also honored by the Union- town Police Department for his support. Before his election as a trustee, Galen had served on the Lake Township Zoning Committee and Lake Township Zoning Board of Appeals. Prior to his passing, Galen had been the current president of the Stark County Regional Planning Committee.
Although Galen loved his community, he also enjoyed traveling outside of it. He and his wife visited all fifty states, sailed on numerous cruises, and visited over thirty countries and/or islands. He also tried to enjoy golf by celebrating the good shots and laughing at the bad ones.
Galen will be forever missed by his wife June; sons Jeff (Karla) and Brian; daughter Christa (Jason); brother Doug; and parents, Owen and Leona Stoll. Galen was preceded in death by his sister Bonnie. He will also be remembered by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Steve Dobry, and nieces and nephews, Ann and Charles Dobry; and Jeremy (Erin) Stoll and Rachel (Sean) Fuller.

The family would like to express its gratitude to the many kind and caring nurses at Aultman, who cared for Galen throughout the past week; and to Drs Kontamwar, Nashawati, Khan, and Khalil, not only their expertise as medical professionals but also for their obvious concern and compassion for Galen and his family.
Calling hours will be Saturday, May 6, at Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville, OH, from 1:00-3:00, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00, with Pastor Joel Cochran serving as officiant.
