Elizabeth Maendel Obituary

Elizabeth Maendel, age 89,beloved Mother of twelve, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday May 10, 2020. She was born on November 30, 1930 in Canada, to Samuel and Rachel Waldner.  Elizabeth was a quiet, loving mother who was always there when her children needed her— guiding, comforting, caring and putting baking soda on their beestings. She stood with her late husband Jacob Maendel raising 12 children, loving numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and working side by side in their farm market and greenhouse business.

Elizabeth is survived by her children Sam (Annie Randle) Maendel, Thelma (Phillip) Norcom, Bruce (Mary Kramer) Maendel, Matthew (Beth Markley) Maendel, Ephraim (Marilyn Waldner) Maendel, Elias Maendel, Rachel (Paul) Hofer, Heidi (Scott) Miller, Joshua Maendel, Jerry (Katie Waldner) Maendel, Susanne (Larry) Lallo and David Maendel and by 40 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother George (Annie) Waldner; sisters Susie Kleinsasser, Katie Waldner and Rachel Hofer.

Besides her parents Elizabeth was preceded in death by brothers Samuel Waldner and Joe Waldner; sister-in-law’s Mary Waldner and Susie Waldner; sisters Annie Wollman and Lena Kleinsasser; and brother-in-law’s Dave Wollman, Joe Kleinsasser, Sam Waldner, Paul Kleinsasser and Benjamin Hofer.

A Graveside service will be livestreamed for family and friends to watch on Saturday 2:00 PM at Arnold Funeral Homes Facebook.
