Edward L. Moon
Place of birth: Canton, Ohio
Our beloved Edward (Eddie) was called home by the Lord on December 8, 2020, at the age of 76 when he passed away unexpectedly after a sudden illness. On May 15, 1944, he was born to his parents, the late Leon Moon and Katherine Edgell.
Ed left this world a better place because of who he was. He dedicated his life to his family, friends, and church family. Ed freely gave of his time, money, and talents to help those in need. He was a true visionary, always looking for ways to help make a difference. If you had a problem, Ed could solve it. Even if you didn’t have a problem, he was a genius at finding ways to make things better. Ed applied his extensive life experience to his final most important endeavor. He spent his last days working at Zcath Mfg., Inc. as Chief Operating Officer, living out his heart’s desire to work in a business with his family. He helped engineer a revolutionary new medical device that will be his legacy impacting people’s lives across the globe.
Ed graduated from Lake High School in 1962, enjoyed sports, and met his sweetheart and wife, Lynda (Reed) Moon, married for 55 1/2 years. He attended The Ohio State University and studied engineering. Ed worked at Republic Steel and then went on to start his own construction company. His first build was a duplex for his family. He built it in its entirety by observing other local builders and passed all inspections. Ed should be the original “Jack-of-all-Trades” and indeed the master of them all.
Ed is survived by his wife: Lynda (Reed) Moon; children: Brentt (Suzette) Moon, Michael (Deborah) Moon, and Shelly (Sherlock) Ossa; brothers: Jerry (Sandy) Moon, and Stan (Carolyn) Edgell; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Monday December 21, 2020 at 1 PM at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville with Pastor Tom Bloom officiating and will be livestreamed at arnoldfuneralhomesfacebook. Calling hours are prior to the service 11AM-1PM.
