Edward Charles Janecek, age 89 of Canton, passed away Tuesday morning in Canton Christian Home. He was born October 10, 1931 in Canton.
Ed graduated from Timken High School in 1949, was a U.S Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from Republic Steel in 1992. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 44 and Canton VFW #3747. Ed loved to bake and deliver cookies to friends all over town, he also loved to tell jokes, stories, had a great smile and an even better sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley; daughter, Cindy Bloch (Tom Curtis); son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Charlene Janecek; grandchildren, Cortney (Rob) James, Chad (Jenn Roth) Bloch, Randy Janecek, Jason (Sarah) Janecek and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Decker, Bernetta Schaub and brother Joseph.
Due to the pandemic, Private Funeral Services will be Friday 11:00a.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Matt Coutcher officiating. Friends may watch the service live on Arnold Funeral Homes Facebook Page. Following cremation, interment will be in North Lawn Mausoleum.
