Earl Sommers

Earl Sommers, age 88, of Uniontown, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Thursday April 6, 2023. He was born May 8, 1934 in Hartville to the late Ben and Lena (Wittmer) Sommers. Earl retired from driving truck at USF Holland after having driven for East Ohio Limestone, Warner Hughes and Paul Adelman Trucking. After retirement, he also worked for Pioneer Trails. He was a volunteer fireman and EMT for Hartville Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife Elva, they had celebrated 69 years of marriage; 6 children Ruth (Wes) Hershberger, Karen (Roy) Schlabach, Cheryl (Wayne) Coblentz, Donna (Marlin) Hochstetler, Norma (Lewis) Miller, Steve (Sherry) Sommers; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.

Calling hours are Monday April 10th from 4-7 PM at Evermore Community Church. Burial will be Tuesday 10 AM in the church cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 AM in the church with Pastor Brett Faris officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care Center or The Chapel in Green. The funeral will be livestreamed at the Evermore website.
