Donna Jeanne (Okey) Schmidt, age 85, of Canton, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 in Rose Lane Health Center. Donna was born on June 2, 1929 in Canton to the late John W. and Cordelia (Langley) Okey. She graduated from Timken High School in 1947. Donna attended the Eleventh Street Church of God and was a 60-plus year member of the Coterie Club of Canton where she was a former President and held many other officer positions. She was also an avid bowler and card player. Preceded in death by her husband Ross, of 49 years, on December 13, 1999 and great-granddaughter Avery Grace Holloway. She is survived by daughters and son-in-law Carol Fox of Delaware, Catherine Jeanne and Aaron Gressel of Canton; sons and daughters-in-law Rick and Jeannie Schmidt of Massillon, Robert and Karen Schmidt of Allison Park, PA, John and Susan Schmidt of Canton; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Harold Keith of North Canton; brothers and sister-in-law Donald and Doris Okey of Nashville, TN, and Robert Okey of Canton. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton. Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Jonathan Holloway officiating.
