Donald Wise age 91 of North Canton, passed away Saturday morning April 15, 2023, with his daughters by his side. He was born March 4, 1932, in North Canton to Harry and Thelma (Wenger) Baker and adopted by Raymond and Gertrude (Wenger) Wise.
Mr. Wise graduated from North Canton High School in 1950 and began his long career as an Iron Worker at T & F Systems and was a member of the Local Union #550 receiving his 70-year pin last year. Don was passionate about trains and spent a year working for B & O Railroad as a Fireman before returning to steel work. Following his retirement in 2002 he drove trucks and Charter Busses all over the country. He visited all 50 states, two Canadian Provinces and ten other countries. Don had a quick wit, great sense of humor and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Dolores “Dolly” in 2008 and his second wife, Nancy on March 30, 2023. He is survived by daughters, Sharon (Gary) Kochak, Cynthia (James) Kullman; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Chaz) Huddleston and kids Elizabeth and Ethan, Emily (Eric) Nielsen and their son Braxton, Mikayla (Aaron) Holloway and kids, Lydia and Wade, Anna (Marlin) Roth; sisters, Bonnie Barfield, Maxine Venosdle; step children, Lori Mickley, Dave (DeeDee) Thomas, Mark (Chris) Thomas Also preceded in death by sisters Margaret Saunier, Charlotte Grice and brothers Richard Baker and William Venosdle.
Calling hours are Thursday April 20, 4-6:00 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home 1517 Market Ave N. Funeral services are Friday 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lawrence officiating followed by burial at Henry Warstler Cemetery.
