Donald P. Wiley

June 25, 1959 ~ October 27, 2021 (age 62)

Donald Paul Wiley age 62, of Hudson and formerly North Canton, passed away unexpectedly on October 27, 2021. He was born June 25, 1959, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to David and Ruth (Jones) Wiley. Don was a graduate of Grove City College and obtained his law degree from the University of Akron. He was a partner at Baker, Dublikar, Beck, Wiley & Mathews Law Firm in North Canton and was involved in many civic, church, and youth sports activities. He served as a North Canton City Councilman and on the North Canton Board of Zoning Appeals, was a member of the Stark County Bar Association, was named Civil Defense Attorney of the Year in 2018, served on numerous church committees, and coached youth football and baseball for over 12 years. His service and dedication were recognized when he was named North Canton’s Community Volunteer of the Year.

Don loved all kinds of music from classical to heavy metal; he enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and taking his dogs to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park; and he was talented in the art of woodworking, a skill he passed to his sons. Above all, Don cherished the company of family and was extremely protective of those he loved. His joy and laughter could light up a room, and he touched all who knew him with his quick wit, sharp mind, and huge heart.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and sister Ruthanne. He is survived by his sons Matthew (Shu) of Texas, Michael of North Canton, and Mark (Maham) of Washington; grandchildren Kaelyn, Katherine, and Nora; siblings Janelle MacLean, David (Phyllis) Wiley, Lorraine (Bob) Winter, and Cheryl (Christopher) Venezia; long-time partner Lisa Lentz and her children Sarah (Andrew), Jack, Hannah, and Emma; many nieces and nephews, and ex-wife Deborah Wiley of North Canton.
