Donald Murphy Obituary

Donald R Murphy, age 94, of Canton, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2021. He was born August 19, 1926 in Canton, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Grace (McMurray) Murphy; sisters, Dorothy (Murphy) Shambaugh and Donna Murphy; wife, Elizabeth A. (Smouse) Murphy, and daughter, Deborah A. (Murphy) Sklare. Donald was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and enjoyed his Christian fellowship and service. He is a World War II Navy Veteran who served in the Pacific on the USS Cross. He is survived by his son, Gary R. (Terri Gorman) Murphy; grandchildren, Lee (Christy) Kuberacki, Derrick (Sally) Kuberacki, Tiffany Gleason and Melissa Young and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held for the family immediately following the calling hours and a private internment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH with Pastor Scott Bacon officiating. Friends may call 2-4pm Friday in the Arnold & Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW. Masks and social distancing will be observed. Please sign the tribute page.
