Diana Mae Heckel

Diana Mae Heckel, age 60, of Canton, passed away on Wednesday May 5, 2021. She was born in Hancock, Michigan, January 26, 1961 to the late Fred and Mae (Ylitalo) Jones. Diana graduated from Houghton High School in 1979, Michigan Technological University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and a Master of Science Degree in Accounting from Kent State University in 1989. She married her high school sweetheart, Scott Heckel, on October 8, 1983. Her career began in banking at D & N Savings and moved to several other banks before her 30 plus year career at General Electric. 

She was a loving mother and devoted wife who relished in discovering new culinary creations for the people she loved. Diana loved to travel with her husband and her family, discovering new experiences wherever possible. 

Diana is survived by her husband Scott; daughter and son-in-law Keirsten (Heckel) and Ethan Trudick, son Brandon Heckel; sisters and brothers-in-law Paula (Jones) and Joseph Luft, Carmen (Jones) and Jeff St. Peter. Preceded in death by brother Michael Jones. Diana is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours are Monday 1-4 PM at Arnold Funeral Home, 1517 Market Ave N, Canton. Funeral services begin at 4 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Boak officiating and can also be viewed live at arnoldfuneralhomes Facebook. On Tuesday a procession forms at the funeral home at 12:30 for graveside services at 1 PM at North Lawn Cemetery in Canton. 

She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her for her infectious personality and the joy she brought to others.
