Cheryl E. Downs
Obituary
Cheryl E. Downs, age 73, of Uniontown passed away on Thursday August 31, 2023. She was born in Louisville on September 15, 1949 to the late Don and Lavera Brewer. She was a member of Maranatha Bible Church where she enjoyed cooking meals in the kitchen for church functions. In the 1960’s, Cheryl sang vocals in a girl group on the Gene Carroll Show and also sang backup vocals for Engelbert Humperdinck. She met and married Dennis Downs June 25, 1993.
She is survived by her husband Dennis; brother David (Sandy) Brewer; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by brother Mark Brewer.
Calling hours are Thursday September 7, from 10-11 at Maranatha Bible Church, 1424 Killian Rd., Akron. Funeral services begin Thursday September 7 at 11 AM in the church with Pastor Butch Pursley officiating. Final resting place is Woods Cemetery, Uniontown. Memorials may be made to the church.
