Charles B. Midcap, “Chuck”, passed away May 4th, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born as one of ten children in Canton on December 14th, 1949, to Lloyd Charles and Clara (Jacobs) Midcap. He is a graduate of Timken Vocational High School and following High School he became a skilled Tool and Die maker, spending most of his career with the Ford Motor Company, working his way to supervisor. His biggest dream was to be a farmer, a dream he realized in 1986 when he was able to purchase his 90-acre farm. He spent many years as a dairy and beef farmer, later transitioning to growing crops and custom field work. Chuck was a “yes man” when it came to helping all who needed his expertise. He always had a great story and endless knowledge to share. Chuck had an “Old school” way about him and was sure to instill his work ethic to his children and grandchildren, supervising until the work was done. Not always patient but unconditionally loving, Chuck put family first at all times. His generosity, laughter, strength and quick wit will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Chuck was a man of faith and was blessed to have joined the East Nimishillen Church of the Brethren family. Although difficult, it is not for nothing that Chucks passing was on National Day of Prayer as well as National “Thank a Farmer” Day. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Bessie, Carl, Allen, Harold, Earl and Richard.
He is survived by his loving wife and High School Sweetheart, Rebecca; Children Matthew (Angie), Mark (Joyce), Andrew (Suzanne); Grandchildren AJ, Gage (Anna), Madison (Cyrus), Morgan, and Benjamin; one month old great grandson Gage Jr.; Sisters Barb (Ed), Carol (Jim) and Judy (Dick 5-3-49 to 2-3-90); Many Nieces and Nephews who were very special to him.
Calling hours will be held 10am to 11am on May 13th at East Nimishillen Church of the Brethren, memorial services will begin at 11am at the Church with Pastor Jim Lee.
In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made on behalf of Chucks name to the East Nimishillen Memorial Fund.
