Carolyn Kortkamp Obituary

Carolyn A. Kortkamp, age 92, of Canton passed away May 3, 2022, in Bel Air Nursing Home in Alliance. She was born in Canton on November 4, 1929, to John and Lulu (Miller) Kiehl and graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1947 and attended Ohio Northern University. Carolyn was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, as a young girl at 1st Presbyterian Church and then Christ Presbyterian Church as a member of the choir. Her church family played a significant role in her life, as she formed friendships that turned into family throughout her life, including her cherished “Golden Girls” group. Carolyn served in multiple capacities at the church including the Stephen Ministry, Jail Ministry, and as a Prayer Partner in the Food, Clothing, and Prayer ministry. Carolyn also spent over 20 years in various roles with Graphic Business Systems, retiring in a sales role.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her brother Stanley Kiehl. She is survived by her children Lori Ann (Scott) Sproul and Larry Kortkamp; granddaughter Gabriella Balcarcel.

Calling hours will be Friday, May 6 from 10-11 AM in the Chapel at Christ Presbyterian Church. Memorial service will follow at 11 AM in the Chapel with Rev. David de Vries officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church to the Food, Clothing, and Prayer Ministry.
