Carolyn M. (McMillan) Elsass

Carolyn McMillan Elsass, age 90, passed away Tuesday morning, June 8, 2021. Carolyn was born in Canton to the late Major Harold and Mrs. Janice Todd McMillan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick W. Elsass; stepson, Allen Elsass; and brother, Todd McMillan.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Jon (wife Barbara and granddaughter, Julie); Stepsons, Retired Senior Master Sergeant Fred (wife Jill); Verle (wife Ruth); Barbara-Allen’s wife; and nephew, Hal McMillian (wife Ginger).

Carolyn was a graduate of Lehman High School, the Ohio State University, and the Akron School of Law. She was a court investigator for the Stark County Family Court System for many years. She volunteered for the Stark County Probate Court and the Veterans Administration Clinic in Canton.

Carolyn was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing in a number of bridge groups. She was a member of the Canton College Club; enjoyed opera and attending the Canton Symphony Orchestra concerts.

She was an active member of the Canton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and a member of the Molly Stark Chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists.

Carolyn was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church in North Canton where she taught Sunday school for 33 years; was President of the Congregation for a number of years; and served on the Altar Guild.

Funeral Service will be 11:00am Saturday in the Zion Lutheran Church in North Canton with The Rev. William Weidenbach, Jr. officiating.
