Carlos Romero Sr.

Carlos “Charlie” Romero Sr., de 81 años, residente de Uniontown, falleció la mañana del lunes 16 de marzo de 2020 en la tranquilidad de su hogar rodeado de su familia. Nació el 29 de marzo de 1938 en San Juan, Puerto Rico, y trabajó como supervisor en la Puerto Rico Telephone Company. Luego de jubilarse, dividieron su tiempo entre Hartville, Ohio y Goshen, Indiana para estar cerca de sus hijos y nietos. A Charlie le encantaban los Yankees y el béisbol, ver a sus nietos practicar deportes, hacer cuentos, hacer jardinería y paisajismo, leer el periódico, los dulces, el chocolate y el mantecado. Le encantaba la música y bailar con su esposa, Lucy.

Le sobreviven su esposa de 59 años, Lucy; sus hijos Carlos Jr. (Celina) Romero, Yadira (Scott) Miller, Jesús (Laura) Romero; sus nietos Elise (Sergio Madrid) y Cristian Romero, Isabel, Patrick y Nicole Miller; sus hermanos Diego (Ilia) Romero, Benigno (Doris) Romero, César (Wanda) Romero; su cuñado Mike McTernan; y otros parientes y amigos.

Precedido en la muerte por su hermana Carmen "Gringa" McTernan.

La familia celebrará los servicios funerarios el sábado en Cornerstone Community Chapel. El entierro será en Walnut Grove Cementario.

Carlos “Charlie” Romero Sr., age 81, of Uniontown, passed away on Monday morning March 16, 2020 in the comfort of his home with family by his side. He was born March 29, 1938 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and had been a supervisor in the Puerto Rico Telephone Company. They split their time between Hartville, Ohio and Goshen, Indiana after retirement to be close to their children and grandchildren. Charlie loved The Yankees and baseball, watching his grandchildren play sports, story-telling, gardening and landscaping, reading the newspaper, sweets, chocolate and ice cream. He loved music and dancing with his wife, Lucy. 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lucy; children Carlos Jr. (Celina) Romero, Yadira (Scott) Miller, Jesus (Laura) Romero; grandchildren Elise (Sergio Madrid) and Cristian Romero, Isabel, Patrick and Nicole Miller; siblings Diego (Ilia) Romero, Benigno (Doris) Romero, Cesar (Wanda) Romero; brother-in-law Mike McTernan; and other relatives and friends. 

Preceded in death by sister Carmen “Gringa” McTernan. 

The family will have funeral services Saturday (viewing 12 noon-2 and service at 2 PM) at Cornerstone Community Chapel. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
