Beverly McMahon Obituary

Beverly Graber McMahon, 96, of Canton, Ohio a beacon of love, warmth, and cultivation, passed away peacefully at Mercy Medical Center on April 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a very brief illness.

Beverly graduated from Middle Branch high school in 1946. After high school she worked at Harter Bank, in downtown Canton before meeting her husband and starting a family. She was devoted to Our Lady of Peace Church and was very active member in many bible study groups. She was very strong in her faith and believed in giving back to her community. St. Jude’s was the charity that held a special place in her heart. She was very passionate about volunteering at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen and always donated blood at the Red Cross Blood Drive.

In her spare time, Beverly enjoyed gardening. She was an active member of her local garden club and was very proud of the award she won for best nonprofessional backyard. When she was not in the backyard, she took pleasure in daily reading, journaling, listening to music, and riding her airdyne bike.

Although she was not much of a baker, there was no dessert Beverly did not devour. She was a lover of all sweet treats and would often wear a sweater that said “I have never met a cookie I did not like”.

Beverly was the most optimistic person you could ever meet. She was always very positive and had a smile on her face. Her grandchildren will always remember her smiling and singing you are my sunshine to them right before bed. Her grandchildren could not remember a time when she ever got mad or upset with them. She was always just so happy and full of life.

Beverly, daughter of Ardis and Al Bahmiller. Preceded in death by her brother Richard (Carolyn) Graber and her loving husband Thomas Mcmahon.

Most of all Beverly loved spending cherished time with her family. Survived by her Daughter Melany (Scott) Potts and son Tim (Joel Robinson). Three grandchildren Cory (Robert) McKinney-Potts, Hunter (Katie) Potts, and Heather (Nick) Case. Three great grandchildren Carson and Emery Case and Paxton Potts and lifelong best friend from grade school of almost 90 years Imogene DeMarsh.

After 31 years of being missed; Beverly will be welcomed at the heavenly gates with open arms by her husband Tom who also passed on April 15.

To honor Beverly’s wishes there will be a private family service.

With the support from her two children she was able to live independently in her home until very recently. We want to extend a thank you to the Mercy Hospice Team. In lieu of flowers or for those desiring charitable contributions may be made to Salvation Army or St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
