Beverly Gross of Canton passed away at age 83 on Wednesday, Aug. 30 2023. She was a devoted wife, mother of three sons, and friend to everyone she met.
She was born in Cleveland in 1940 and moved to Canton in middle school. She graduated from Lehman High School in 1958.
She was a dedicated member of the Canton Jewish community and multiple civic organizations, having spent decades as a board member and past president of Temple Israel, multiple positions at the Jewish Federation as a volunteer and employee, and spent many years with her husband Eldy as youth group advisors at Temple Israel.
Bev was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Eldy S. Gross, and was the daughter of Nate and Ida Ross. She is survived by her sister Judy (Irv) Sinkoff, her children, Scott (Grace) Gross, David (Nancy) Gross, Jimmy (Katie) Gross. She was the beloved Grammy to Samantha, Rachel, Elly, Lily, and Parker Gross.
She cared deeply about spending time with family and friends, and often hosted joyous celebrations at her family's Canton home for Jewish holidays, dinner parties, and her favorite event of the year -- Thanksgiving.
Bev will be missed greatly by her children, grandchildren, and expansive network of friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. at Temple Israel with Rabbi David Komerofsky and Rabbi John Spitzer officiating, followed by an internment in North Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Temple Israel.
