Barbara Hetrick Obituary

Barbara Jean Hetrick (Stuchul) 82, of Canton, passed away May 19, 2023. She was born November 10, 1940, to the late Gerald R. and Marie Hetrick of Canton. She grew up on the family farm across from Meyers Lake on 12th Street. The family grew vegetables and cultivated peat moss for sale. Due to being the oldest of 3 she would be required to tend the vegetable stand while her parents managed the farm.

Barb graduated from Lincoln High School. She would go on to become secretary for the Carpenters Union Local 69, leading to the insurance industry work due to her exceptional organizational skills and amazingly artistic handwriting abilities. Her work eventually led her to the Aultman Hospital Pharmacy Department where she would spend 32 years of service. She could act silly at a moment’s notice and leave you to feel as if she was just another kid in the room. She was always known for her outgoing personality and willingness to get to know someone, leaving them to feel as if they had been lifelong friends.

She is survived by her sons Lee (Nancy) Stuchul and Jeff Stuchul; brother Ray (Cathy) Hetrick and sister Susan (Bill) Maxwell; grandchildren Christopher (Megan) Stuchul, Alex (Erica) Stuchul, and Samantha Stuchul; 3 great grand children and soon to be 4th; several nieces and nephews.

Private burial services will be held for the family.
