Andrew Deuble Obituary

     Andrew Hilty Deuble passed away on November 11, 2022 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota FL following a brief illness. Andy was born in Canton Ohio on February 29, 1952 to the late Walter and Beverly Deuble. He was raised in Canton and graduated from Glenwood HS in 1970 where he had a great group of friends! He earned his Bachelor’s degree at Bowling Green University in 1974. In his youth, Andy was an outstanding baseball player and was always a well-liked friend. Andy had five siblings and led an active life.

     While in high school and college, Andy worked summers at the Climalene factory in Canton, a family business.  Upon college graduation, he became a full-time employee of the Climalene Company that transitioned into DCC Corp. Massillon Plaque was acquired by DCC Corp in 1984 and Andy was part of the management team and served as a Board Member. Andy was Vice-President and Board Member of the George H Deuble Foundation, North Canton OH.  Andy’s grandfather, George, established the foundation in 1947. 

     In 1988 Andy joined the J Babe Stearn Board of Directors following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father and faithfully served until 2022.  In 2008 Andy was inducted into the J Babe Stearn Hall of Fame. The Boys and Girls Club at the Babe Stearn Center was near and dear to Andy’s heart. He was a friend, a leader and a tremendous asset to this worthy organization. Andy also actively supported the Whispering Grace Horses in Massillon OH, an organization offering ‘Healing and Hope’ through horses to individuals and families in the community. Andy was an avid golfer and a member of Congress Lake Club in Hartville OH since 1977 where he was active and enjoyed his favorite weekly gin games. In Florida, Andy was a member of the Longboat Key Club where he spent his winters.

       Andy was a very kind and very generous man. He was a loyal and fun friend to many.  Andy’s life changed in 1995 when he met Joyce, the love of his life, his devoted wife and his best friend. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, a loyal brother and the best grandpa! Andy was a dog lover and also a big Cleveland Browns and Indians fan faithfully attending games for many years.

     LESSONS FROM ANDY’S LIFE:  Be patient, be kind, be respectful, be genuine, put others before yourself, serve your community, be generous, be loyal, enjoy life. Friends say if you want to be a really good man, then live your life like Andy.   

     Andy leaves his loving wife Joyce; stepdaughters, Stephanie (Don) Geitgey, N. Canton OH, Stacy (Ron) DeChellis, Canton OH; grandchildren Bailey, Jordan, Sydney and Reagan; brothers Steve (Barb) Deuble, Hartville OH, Joe (Debra) Deuble, N. Canton OH; sisters, Gretchen Deuble, Bastrop TX, Maggie Farley, Lake Bluff IL, Molly (Clinton) White, Galveston TX; many cousins, nieces, nephews and good friends.

     Calling hours will be Thursday December 1 from 3:00 to 6:00 at the Arnold Funeral Home 1517 Market Ave. N., Canton OH. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 at the funeral home following the service a private family committal service will take place at North Lawn Cemetery.
