Obituary

Alvin Hershberger, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Monday August 14, 2023. He was born in Hartville on February 7, 1933 to the late Martin and Elizabeth (Miller) Hershberger. He was a truck driver for Hartville Redi Mix and then for Mathie Supply where he retired in 1998 after 21 years of service. Alvin had headed up the Randolph Blue Grass Music Group for many years, something he really enjoyed doing.

Preceded in death by his wife Leora (Slabaugh) Hershberger; son Timothy Hershberger and daughter Lori Hershberger; and siblings Art Hershberger, Jake Hershberger, Mary Coblentz, Fannie Greathouse, Gertrude Hershberger and Sara Yoder; nephew Brett Hershberger and niece Debbie Greathouse.

He is survived by his daughter Jane Mitchell and her significant Andy Sukosd; sister Judy (Bob) Dever; brother Roy Hershberger; nieces and nephews and friends.

Calling hours are Saturday 9-11 AM at the Arnold Funereal Home Hartville. Funeral services begin Saturday 11 AM at the funeral home. Final resting place is Evermore Community Church Cemetery.
