Alice C. Liolios (Kinsey), born September 20, 1930, Mom lost the battle here on earth, February 15, 2021. When faced with the option of surgery or hospice, she chose surgery. The odds were not very good but she was determined to stay with us. She came through the surgery but ended up with an infection that she couldn’t battle. She saw God lay His hand on her chest the week the infection took over, we were hoping it was a miracle healing but God was calling her home. If you knew Mom you knew she was a strong woman sometimes working three jobs to raise us girls by herself, it was tough at times but we remained together.
Alice graduated from North High in Akron, Class of 1949, lived in Massillon, OH and was a member of Perry Christian Church, where everyone loved her for her enthusiasm during worship. Alice was retired from Waikem Honda where she was a warranty administrator and cashier for 15 years. She was in the Massillon Seniors Choir and also secretary for the Seniors Club at St. George’s Orthodox Church. She volunteered at Mercy Medical Center, worked at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on the Koraes Board, Stewardship Committee and Pre-school teacher.
Preceded in death by her husband Frank Liolios in 2004; parents Frank and Nancy Didato; brothers Thomas Cambria (Sarah), Joseph Cambria (Gi Gi); sister Rose Shipman (Ray); nephew Louis Shipman; brother-in-law Steve Amato. She is survived by her daughters Nancy Cain (Doug) and Tina Brothers (Mike); granddaughter Rachael Rose (Robert); great-granddaughter Ryleigh Rose; sister Marie Amato; special grandson Hassane Djibrilla (Shanee), their children; many nieces and nephews; her long-time companion and fiancé Raymond Bongini; and her dog Lucky.
Alice loved life and her passion was dancing. She loved all people and no one was a stranger. She touched many lives with her giving nature and will be sadly missed by those she left behind. The only consolation is she will be dancing once more in Heaven with her beloved Jesus.
Calling hours are Friday 10-11 AM and funeral services begin at 11 AM with Pastor Rod Geiger officiating, all at Perry Christian Church. Final resting place is Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. A special thank you to Mercy Hospice for the care given.
