Wyn E. McCoy, age 89 of North Canton died Monday morning in Windsor Medical Center. Born in Beaver Falls, PA Mr. McCoy retired from the Timken Company in 1982 as Vice President of Engineering and Research, he had also held the position of Vice President of Marketing and Vice President International and was on the Board of Director's. An Army Veteran of WW II he served with Special Engineers Detachment for the Manhattan Atomic Project, Columbia University and Oakridge Tennessee. Mr. McCoy received his Industrial Engineering Degree from Ohio State University in 1940. A member of Christ Presbyterian Church where he had served as a trustee, Mr. McCoy was Chairman of Stark County Oversight Committee, Chairman Canton City Government and Oversight Committee, Chairman Capital Campaign Committee Buckeye Council Boy Scouts of America, Trustee of Ohio Business Week, Member and on the Board of Director's of Canton Rotary Club, and was U.S. Bankruptcy Trustee for Enduro Stainless. He was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award from Rotary Club, Silver Beaver Award from Buckeye Council Boy Scouts of America, and the William S. Perry Award for Advancement of Economic Education from the University of Akron. In addition to his parents John H. and Hazel (English) McCoy he was preceded in death by a grandson: Michael E. McCoy. Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Rebecca A. McCoy of the residence. Two daughters: Myra E. McCoy of DeCatur, GA and Gina E. McCoy of Sunny Isle Beach, FL. Son and daughter-in-law: Don and Rita McCoy of Canton. Three grandchildren. A private graveside service will be on Thursday in North Canton Cemetery with Rev. David L. deVries officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church 530 Tuscarawas St. W. Canton, OH 44702 or to Buckeye Council Boy Scouts of America 2301 13th St., N.W. Canton, OH 44708.
