Windell Lee Boggess, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in Hartville, Ohio. Born on January 13, 1932 in Sissonville, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Addie and Lessie Boggess. Windell was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Army with Charlie Company, 38th Regiment of the 2nd Infantry Division. Following his military service, Windell spent a few years in Cleveland, Ohio with his brothers before settling in Rochester, Pennsylvania where he and his wife, Madalene, raised their daughter Debbie. Windell was an employee of LTV Steel and retired in 1985. He was a member of the Rochester, Pennsylvania VFW Post 128 where he served in various leadership and advisory roles but was most proud of his time as the Post Commander and Chairman of the Board. He was also an active member of the American Legion Post 1341. After living over 60 years in Rochester, Windell moved to Hartville, Ohio in 2017 to be close to his beloved son-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Windell was a devoted family man and loved by many. He is survived by his son-in-law; Dave (Luann) Frank, grandchildren; Lee (Mark) Munoz, Joya (Sam) Mitchell, Lindy (Brandy) Hamm and Dave (Andrea) Frank and great grandchildren; Justin, Matthew, Zachary Munoz; Maddie, Riley, Aaron Mitchell; Addison, Talon Hamm; and Charlie, Baylee, Ruby Frank.

In addition to his parents, Windell was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Madalene Boggess, daughter Deborah Frank, brothers; Laco, Arnold, Willard, Hillard, Freeman, Elbin and John Boggess and sisters; Mary Kellar and Ida Mae Moore.
