William Wittmer, age 87, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 20, 2013. He was born in Uniontown on August 7, 1925 to the late Joseph and Amanda (Sommers) Wittmer. He retired from Monarch Rubber Co. In his free time he enjoyed fixing thing with his hands, gardening and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Hartville Mennonite Church where he served as an usher. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Edna; daughters and sons-in-law Diane Wittmer and Mary Lou Smith of Hartville, Janet and Randy Mansfield of North Canton, Kathleen and Mike Parker of Uniontown; 10 grandchildren Bill (Amanda) Smith, Martyne (Tom) McClary, Cory (Shaina) Smith, Joe Smith, Harold (Heidi) Mansfield, Isaiah Mansfield, Dena Parker, Amanda Parker, Ava Parker and Olivia Parker; 3 great-grandchildren Brooklyn Smith, Julien Smith and Brody Smith and 2 great-grandchildren on the way; 3 sisters Mary (Abe) Yoder, Sylvia (Harold) Yoder, Alta (Robbie) Davenport; sister-in-law Betty Wittmer. Preceded in death by siblings Raymond and Earl Wittmer, Ruth Nisly and infant brothers John and Joseph. Calling hours are Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Hartville Mennonite Church and one hour prior to services on Monday 10-11 AM. Funeral services are Monday 11 AM in the church with Pastors Ross Miller and Henry Shrock officiating. Final resting place is the church cemetery.
