Obituary

William W. Winslow, age 90, of North Canton, passed away Wednesday afternoon following a brief illness. Born in Webster, NY to the late Arthur and Rose (Wahle) Winslow. Bill served in the WWII European Campaign, Company A, 25th Tank Battalion, 14th Armored Division and was a 1946 graduate of Heidelberg College. Bill retired from Smith, Kline & French Pharmaceuticals the North Canton Fire Department and was the owner of Right Automotive. He was a charter member of Avondale VFD and was involved in Hoover High School Sideliners. Bill enjoyed NASCAR and road racing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Verda. Survivors include his children: Paula Weston, Bruce, Brian (Judi), Brady (Toni), and Brent (Brenda) Winslow. Nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorial service and Last Alarm service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park with military honors. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Please sign the guest book.
