William E. Sullivan, age 71, of Hartville, passed away on Wednesday January 19, 2011 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 8, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late William H. and Eleanor (Rogers) Sullivan. He was a 1958 graduate of Berea High School. He married Carol Valthauser on February 4, 1961. They just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. He spent 49 years in metal distribution and processing. He founded G. S. Steel Service in 1986 and purchased Peterson Heat Treating in 1989. He served as president of both. He retired in 2005 from G.S. Steel and 2009 from Peterson Heat Treating. He was a member of Congress Lake Country Club since 1988. He served as treasurer of the Hartville Volunteer Fire Dept. for several years. He belonged to Little Flower Parish since 1966. Bill is survived by his loving wife Carol; daughters and sons-in-law Debi and Tim Fink of North Lawrence, Kelly and Don Ries of Hartville, Karen Sanford of Louisville; grandchildren Eric and Zack Hall, Tyler and Hunter Ries, Jacob and Joshua Sanford; sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Jim Robertson of Middleburg Heights, OH; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Cathey Sullivan in Tulsa, OK. Friends may call Sunday 4-7 p.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home, 504 W. Maple St. , Hartville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 10 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 2040 Diamond St. NE, North Canton, with Fr. John Zuzik celebrant.
