William H. Schumacher, age 90, of Hartville, passed away on Sunday January 12, 2014 at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. He was born November 17, 1923 in Stark County to the late Dorothy H. (Outland) and Carl E. Schumacher. A lifetime area resident, William was Past Executive Vice President of F.E. Schumacher Company and Past President of The Schumacher Lumber Company. He was a graduate of Hartville High School, had attended Ohio State University and was a Sergeant in the Army Air Force. A member of the Hartville Church of the Brethren, William was a lifetime member of Culver Fathers Association and past member of North Canton Elks Lodge #2029.He was Former Director of the Central Trust Company and the Town & Country YMCA, and former member of the Congress Lake Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Bernice A. of Copeland Oaks in Sebring, OH; sons and daughters-in-law, William C. and Kay of Hartville, Frederick H. and Sandra of North Canton and John F. of Sarasota, FL; sister, Mary Louise (Alfred) Grimm of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Amy and Tim Hoover, Kurt Schumacher, Anne and Brian Livingston, Cy Schumacher, Mark and Kristen Schumacher; great-grandchildren, Emerson, Will and Ted Hoover, Ellie and Jack Livingston, Madigan and Kaitlyn Schumacher. He was preceded in death by brothers Philip, Jack and Gene Schumacher. A Private Funeral Service will be held for the immediate family at Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville with Chaplain David Parry.
