William C. "Bill" Lashinske, age 82, of Canton died Thursday evening in Aultman Hospital surrounded by his loving family. A life resident of Canton Bill was retired from Republic Steel and was a 42 year honorable member of the Perry Township Fire Department. A 1943 graduate of McKinley High School, Bill was a Navy Veteran of WW II having served in the South Pacific he was also a member of First Baptist Church, Amvets # 124, McKinley Eagles and was a member and past president of AARP #2898. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: John Lashinske and George Robertson. Survivors include his wife: Mary K. Lashinske of the residence. Three daughters: Mrs. Gary (Karen) Taylor, Mrs. Don (Sandra) Clark both of Massillon. Vicki Wilson of Canton. Son: Bill Lashinske, Jr. of N. Canton. Nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Monday 11:00 A.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. with Rev. Kevin Slyh officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 4 P.M. The last alarm service by the Stark County Firefighters Assoc. will be at 4:00 P.M. Sunday. Entombment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
