William D. Ginther, age 77 of Canton passed away Thursday August 17, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born at home in Harrison County, Ohio (Archer Township) on May 9, 1929 to the late Emmett W. and Maud (Strausbaugh) Ginther. Bill graduated from Timken High School and attended Ohio University. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and met Beverly Rice while in the service. Married for 46 years, Beverly preceded Bill in death on March 13, 2003. By trade William had numerous machinery drafting and engineering jobs. He was a member of Canton Lodge No. 60, F. & A.M., Nazir Grotto, and Delta Chapter No. 539, Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Ginther of Canton; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday 7-9 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, Canton and 1 hour prior to services 10:30-11:30 AM Monday. Funeral services will be Monday 11:30 AM in the funeral home with Dr. William Watt officiating. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to The Ohio University Foundation, POBox 869, Athens, OH 45701. Masonic Services will be Sunday 6:45 PM in the funeral home.
