IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Robert
Carter
June 30, 1945 – September 4, 2025
William Robert Carter, age 80, of Hartville, passed away on September 5, 2025. He was born in Cambridge, Ohio to the late Robert and Beatrice (Weisenstine) Carter and graduated from Akron Eash High School and attended the University of Akron. He enlisted in the US Marines, where he served for a few years. Bill then spent well over 30 years working at Goodyear retiring as a supervisor in tire and fabric development. Bill enjoyed traveling, especially going on family cruises, including Alaska, Panama, and Nova Scotia to name a few. He was a John Deere enthusiast and enjoyed using his tractor in parades and for hayrides and restoring his vintage Air Force Jeep. Bill was active with Boy Scout Troup 45, volunteered at the Great American Soapbox Derby, and was a long-time member of the Randolph Lions Club, where he was a Melvin E. Jones Fellow. But for those who knew Bill, knew that his first love was and always has been Chocolate!
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Bethann Marie Carter.
He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Rebecca Carter; daughter Bonnie (Jim) Miller; grandson Jesse James Miller; siblings Sandra (Harold) Leith and John Brent (Kathy) Carter; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Bill's family would like to thank the staff at Altercare of Hartville and Absolute Hospice for their compassion and tender care.
