Wilbert Layne Chamberlain, age 73, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 28, 2018 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side. He was born September 1, 1944 in Monterville, West Virginia to the late Raymond I and Mary (Champ) Chamberlain, graduated from Elkins High School in WV, and served in the US Air Force. He married Jonni (Smith) on August 30, 1966 in East Canton, Ohio. He retired from Sirpilla RV Center after 25 years of service. He was a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church in Louisville where he served on the Trustee Committee and worked with youth. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandson Sean and attending his granddaughter Megan's dance recitals. Spending time with family and friends was important to Wilbert.

He is survived by his wife Jonni; daughter and son-in-law Angela and Michael Klotz; grandchildren Megan (Matthew) Estock and Sean Klotz; siblings Ferne Kalm, June Welch, Mary (Joseph) Sterling, Carl Chamberlain, Judy (John) Mongan, Ellen (Arnett) Lanham, Ross (Karen) Chamberlain; sister-in-law Jean Chamberlain; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by sisters Betty (Ted) Henline, Janet (Dale) Johnson, Carletta Chamberlain, Luella (Evan) Jenkins; brothers Raymond "Sonny" Chamberlain and his twin brother Harold (Marcie) Chamberlain; brothers-in-law Walt Kalm, Richard and Clifford Welch.

Calling hours are Tuesday 5-8 PM at Arnold Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday (10-11 AM). Funeral services are Wednesday 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Joe Wright officiating. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Burial Park. Following burial a funeral meal will be served at Fairhope United Methodist Church.

Thank-you to the hospice team and especially his nurse Joyce and aide Patti for their special loving care of Wilbert.
